Simple from the start.

1

We talk first.

A free 30-minute consult. You tell me about your child. I ask a lot of questions. We figure out together if this is the right fit.

2

We build a roadmap.

I assess where your child is, identify the gaps, and put together a plan. Explicit, systematic, and built around how your child actually learns.

3

We get to work.

Online sessions, 1:1. Structured lessons, consistent feedback, and a parent who stays in the loop every step of the way.

Is this your child?

The child who dreads school

Reading and writing feel like the hardest things in the world. They're not struggling because they're not trying. Reading and spelling are skills that can be taught. Sometimes they just haven't been taught in the way that works best for their brain.

The child with a diagnosis

Dyslexia, ADHD, a processing difference. A label helps explain things, but what they really need is instruction built around how their brain works.

The child who can read but can't write

Reading clicked, but getting ideas onto paper is a different story. Writing and spelling are skills that can be taught, systematically, step by step.

The child who slipped through

School is busy. Gaps get missed. By the time a family finds me, those gaps have usually been growing quietly for a while. It's not too late to fill them.

"Michelle has many tricks in her bag for keeping lessons interesting and fun. She's extremely encouraging and a positive mentor. We are so happy we made the decision to work with her."

Mari Chris C.

"She was able to give my son the tools he needed to not only get through some challenging times, but change the narrative entirely. It's been a game changer."

Jolene F.

"You are a phenomenal teacher and we are so grateful you took us on. My mom calls you a miracle worker. He really enjoys your sessions."

Laurel T.

What I know to be true.

Literacy changes everything.

When a student can read and spell with confidence, the whole picture shifts. School gets easier. So does showing up for it.

Explicit instruction works.

Students who struggle need skills taught directly, systematically, and with lots of practice built in.

Every student has a roadmap.

I've never met a student who didn't want to be a better reader or writer. The job is finding their on-ramp and building from there.

Michelle McIntosh

I've spent 16 years helping children find their footing with literacy.

I'm an Orton-Gillingham certified literacy specialist and executive function coach. I work 1:1 with children online, building the reading, spelling, and writing skills that school hasn't been able to crack yet.

The literacy piece and the social-emotional piece are inseparable in my practice. A child who feels behind needs more than instruction. They need someone in their corner.
